Fabulous tragically beautiful gloomy breezy pop psychedelia from French(Montreal) Canada

sung by Suzanne in a fragile girl coming into womanhood quiver.

As rare and kinda similar in vein as the another Birchmount record, the Mary Saxton 'Sad Eyes' LP.

The 5 songs Suzanne sings penned by the Hambleton brothers ( Greg and Fergus) of the Canadian Psychedelic Group A PASSING FANCY are standouts of this LP and are the real reason to dig this LP! The Hambletons also Produce and play on this LP.

 

Suzanne sings the material in a Julie Cruze 

(twin peaks) meets Velvet underground meets 

Claudine without the accent.... The song "Island", 

shows up on the Passing Fancy LP as a single, and

also another Birchmount LP by ex-shays vocalist, 

Wayne Versage done in a bongo by the beach groove 

but the Suzanne version nails the mood of what 'Island'

is saying in the lyrics.

While speaking of the album by Wayne Versage (rip), he obviously had help from the Hambletons too
and Jay Telfer (rip) who was an early member of Passing Fancy but I do not know if he has any part
of the Suzanne LP because It's unknown when it was recorded, probably as early summer 1968
by looking at the cover tracks by originally by Burt Bacharach and Hal David.








An offshoot LP was released with the 
instrumental bed tracks from the
Suzanne Sessions called "tuesday's 
children" with some songs
not on Suzanne like instrumental to 
"i believe in sunshine" also a Passing 
Fancy track and was a hit for Madrigal.

While putting together the video/audio example for this posting, I found out that
this movie is pretty darn scarce. I could not find 1 clip from the movie. Not even a trailer.
And in this day-n-age of streaming video of all sorts, this is a let  down.

Recently reissued, but not sounding as nice as the original. Not even close.
I don't know what the source of reissue land is, but it sucks, to say the most.

This popped up in a bookstore back room
 around 2001 in ontario and has been a friend of getting a frenzy
spirit on the dance floor. So many styles on this album that appeal to the hip funk
north psych eurofreak crowd(s) of all ages.

When looking at the year this was released, 1968 there is an odd mirror reflect with another
similar named composer with the song "Clara's jerk" which is in the video clip...
It sounds like a sibling to a song Pierre Henry(i) (or is it jean jacques perry) released on a soundtrack in the late 60's
which I recently found out some trivial extra cross over info that it was used as a Theme on some
TV show called Futurama (sp?)  by M. Groening creator of Simpsons animated phenom.
It's a killer track (both of them) and have the huge go go sludge big beat with crazy
Moog-like and echoey sound effects.

There is apparent deep intrigue and mythos with this LP according to one  of those reissue companies.
I guess the going price of the original pressing says something kinda too but
really it's a fun Lp that has some innovative melding of instrumentation that has not
been visited much.

Since I was able to sell a copy a few years back, I will then share this as a limited edition
lossless CD quality TORRENT.

Here is how to modify / play AAC files in OS9.2.2

Take a file created in OSX that is a AAC related file.


Drag it into File buddy under 9.x

You'll see a window pop up like this one :

You can leave the title the same, what you are focusing on are "TYPE AND CREATOR
SIGNATURE"

FIRST : CHANGE CREATOR TO :  TVOD (from  hook) you have to manually type it in the field

SECOND : Now you can see the proper file type appear in FILE TYPE drop down.
What you are looking for is  MPG4  (mpg4)  Choose that and you can save and close
the file.


The last post on the web was in 2005 about this topic and they got it wrong, which I'm sure
baffled many people. They may have been doing it right, but they were leaving out a major
part of the explaination. That is to Change HOOK to TVOD. They left that important
fact out!
